Modern Hybrid Hydrangea shrubs fall into 2 main groups lace-cap and mopheads varieties. Their flower heads form in late spring so it is important to follow pruning procedures in early spring, the flower buds mature through the summer season with striking array of colours and forms lasting on the plant’s stems through autumn till the following spring when it’s time to prune. This stunning group of shrubs give colour throughout the summer making them good value for many years after an initial investment.
Best grown in a rich, well-draining soils that stays moist. If you have poor soil you will need to enrich with good compost. The plant prefers partial sun, in position where they will be given full sun in the morning, but some shade from fierce hot midday sun.
